I know that I am not a quality writer by any serious measurement. Whenever I come across an “English type” my papers are torn apart in such a manner that would make John Wayne Gacy get squeamish. However when I am put up against any other academic discipline, I fare quite all right. I have generally accomplished satisfactory marks on all of my papers throughout my younger years. I really only took one non-required English class in high school and it was creative writing. Nothing I did was impressive or fun enough to outweigh the work so I did not seek out any English class since and that was about 7 years ago.
In that time, however I did take the advance placement United States History and managed to construct an essay to earn me a top score and college credit in the matter of a long test period. Ever since then I have not feared working on a paper. I just lamented the work. In a contemporary sense, I just managed to ace a class with the most college-level papers I ever had to do and was quite surprised on how well the paper had been received by the professor. Perhaps it has more to do with my historical sense then my English skills but I will take the A all the same.
I keep dreaming that maybe I will write something wonderful and can invoke the responses I gather from various media. I never complete anything, as it seems too difficult to work with English. So instead, I just write little blurbs via instant messenger or on a myspace page trying to illustrate my wit and deeper values. After I finish my required English classes, I will avoid writing except for the more colloquial sense.

You seem like you are a very good writer by just reading your blogs. I always read everyone else's blog and think, "Wow my writing looks very juvenile," but maybe it's just me. I hope that you accomplish your goals in writing.
I too am not genuinely excited about writing papers but i do well. I usually wait to the last minute to do them cause i don't want to do them. It seems from you past experiences that you will do fine with any writing you encounter in the future.
I envy your approach to writing papers. You seem like you have a pretty good grasp on writing and I'm sure this class will only make that stronger.
From reading your blogs it seems like you have a skill for creative writing. if i were you i wouldnt give up just yet who knows maybe you could write fiction novels in the future if not you could always make your own website dedicated to those who really dont like English :)
We all hvae something that we can improve on with our writing, Hopefully, with this class you will find the opportunity to do so.
